Vermont Veterinary Surgery is an independently owned veterinary practice based in Virginia Water, Surrey. We are establishing a brand-new practice and currently recruiting a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our dedicated and expanding team.
We care passionately about looking after animals and pride ourselves on providing high quality care for pets.
**About the Role**:
Department: Practice Support Staff
Reporting to: Head Veterinary Nurse
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a new and growing organization. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the nursing and wider practice team in delivering the highest standards of care to patients.
We require a friendly, hard-working, and enthusiastic individual. Our ideal applicant will have a demonstrable ability to work in a team with customer service experience.
We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with a reliable and strong work ethic.
This is a full-time role: 8-hour 5days with 1hr unpaid lunch break, 1 in 3 Saturdays (9.00am - 1pm) and no on call or OOH.

**Main duties**:
Assisting veterinary surgeons, qualified and student nurses with all aspects of their work.
Caring for animals, administrating simple medical treatments under instruction and supervision
Setting up for surgery, x-rays, and medical procedures
Walking, cleaning, and monitoring animals
Caring for the clinical environment
Taking payments
Processing of insurance documents
Reception duties
Travel to OOH practice as required
Likely to undertake formal training towards veterinary nursing qualification
**About you**:
Five or more GCSE’s (or equivalent) including mathematics, science and
English
Hold a valid UK driving license (preferred)
No unspent criminal convictions
Computer literacy
Ability to communicate effectively
Proven empathy with patients and clients
**Experience**:
No experience required but interest in animal care.
**Salary**: £15,000.00-£20,000.00 per year
