**Head of Fundraising & Marketing** Salary: £40,000- £50,000
Location: Oldham
Contract: Full time, permanent

UKIM is one of the premier faith based civil society organisations working in the UK to serve the needs of the Muslim community in the UK. UKIM is going through a major organisational reform to re-establish itself as an effective civil society organisationand fulfil its mission. The reform includes major changes at governance and executive level and relocating its Head Office from London to Oldham.

The job holder is expected to provide inclusive and visionary leadership that inspires, engages and motivates employees, supporters and partners. To deliver UKIM’s vision and mission and to develop the organisation’s leading position within UK’s civil societycommunity.

Applicants should be sympathetic to Islamic principles and values and have a solid understanding & experience of Muslim communities in the UK.

How to apply

**Main Responsibilities**
- Oversee UKIM’s communication, marketing and fundraising activity across all departments.
- Co-ordinate communications, marketing and fundraising activity and planning for all channels, including website, social media and external newsletters, for all departments of UKIM.
- Support the Executive Director to strategise and lead on related organisational development activities and projects, for the whole UKIM.
- Marketing all departments of UKIM to different audiences to raise the profile of the Charity in support of its strategic aims.
- Implement an effective external communications strategy to develop a consistent and coherent narrative for UKIM; supporting the work of the charity among the general public, potential strategic partners and donors and provide clear goals around communicationand brand awareness.
- Evaluate and monitor marketing and communications activity - developing KPI’s in line with our Marketing & Communications Strategy, and ensuring the information is used to build on success and to develop strategy and outputs.
- Lead on the management and delivery of the communications, Marketing and Fundraising calendar.
- Work with the UKIM team to develop and maintain website content.
- Implement a social media strategy that is integrated with wider team projects and ensure consistent messaging is shared across all platforms.
- Provide oversight of publications and materials, ensuring brand guidelines are followed.
- Work with the team to produce engaging content for internal and external blog posts, newsletters and other forms of media to be shared across all platforms.
- Provide in-house design for publications and promotional materials as required.
- Manage the relevant budgets.
- Act as a brand champion: developing core messaging guidelines to include organisational style guide, tone of voice, etc. and advising others to ensure that all content and messaging is on brand.
- Manage a dynamic team to ensure UKIM Relief and other programmes/projects maximise in their fundraising income.
- Be responsible for all fundraising campaigns and activities.
- Assist in the development of the fundraising strategy.
- Ensure fundraising planned activities appeal to all stake holders.
- Ensure effective approaches are undertaken in the delivery of the campaign.
- Work with other managers to ensure effective delivery of all fundraising campaigns and activities.
- Effectively manage the team in house.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate and streamline all fundraising activities with the strategy of UKIM Relief and vice versa.
- Network extensively in order to build relationships with relevant stakeholders.

**Person Specification**:

- Experience of raising a charity’s profile through developing and delivering creative, engaging social media and digital communications.
- Experience of working in a creative communications role with autonomy.
- Experience of brand development and communications strategy design and implementation.
- Experience of managing a WordPress website CMS, including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), site navigation, Gutenberg page structuring.
- Experience in copywriting, editing, and proofreading.
- Experience of Videography, photography and editing
- Excellent writing skills and ability to consistently create content that is clear and engaging.
- High level of digital competence and creativity to support strategic goals
- Demonstrable competence in Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
- Proven Fundraising experience.
- Experience in managing budgets.
- Experience in developing team strategies and plans.
- People management experience.
- Knowledge of varied funding sources and structures and BME and faith-based communities.
- Extensive knowledge of a wide range of fundraising techniques.
- Understanding of the Charity Act and other legislation affecting fundraising ventures.
