Transport Planner Supervisor

**Main Purpose of Job**

To control and supervise Movianto transport scheduling operations and personnel to a standard that satisfies Company quality expectations. To ensure effective and cost efficient routes, within constraints, for all depots and to ensure that the correct consignments and deliveries are effectively scheduled. To follow the procedures documented or briefed to ensure operations are completed. To adhere to statutory and Company requirements for the health and safety of yourself and your co-workers

**Key Responsibilities / Outputs**

1. Effectively manage the daily operation of the overnight scheduling function

2. Motivate and supervise the team of schedulers

3. Ensure that the most effective, efficient and operationally executable transport plan is produced for depots daily

4. Supervise computerised vehicle scheduling procedures to ensure optimum effectiveness and completion of customer requirements and service levels

5. Organise, agree and control solutions with the Company network to ensure scheduling operations are satisfactorily completed on a timely basis. Priority is to be given to overall network performance

6. Manage unforeseen circumstances (on depot’s behalf if necessary) to Company’s best operational and financial outcome

7. Book couriers and agency staff on a nationally arranged level as required

8. Daily reporting of issues arising from overnight scheduling to senior management

9. Commitment to ongoing progress of scheduling project

10. Carry out administration tasks as required meeting the needs of KPI reporting, personnel management and statutory duties

11. Carry out all other reasonable duties as directed by senior management

**Qualifications / Experience required for the job (Ideal)**
- Previous practical traffic office experience
- Leadership and man-management experience and skills
- Articulate, numerate, PC literate and able to communicate effectively
- Good national geographical knowledge
- Initiative required to act within busy operational environment
- Flexible in approach and able to work hours required to complete scheduling tasks
- Knowledge of transport legislation
- Smart and personally well presented
