**Job overview**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the neonatal team, supporting facilities and services in the ward area, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Ensure cleaning together with other specified tasks meet the needs of the ward as determined by the person in charge or unit manager. Support maintaining stock levels. Communicate effectively with families and the wider team, contributing to a confidential environment.

**Main duties of the job**:

- To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward.
- To carry out spot cleaning and ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
- To ensure general and specialist equipment are cleaned according to Trust policy.
- To ensure that the ward is safe and tidy at all time, removing clutter, tidy notice boards and signage etc.
- To maintain the upkeep of patient areas.
- To ensure specialist cleaning of surface and furnishings
- To ensure isolation nursing areas are cleaned appropriately
- To work closely with the domestic team.
- To serve meals and snacks in conjunction with the nursing team instructions.
- To serve any food and beverages at the correct temperature according to food hygiene regulations.
- To ensure refrigerated food is labelled and stored correctly as policy.
- To take responsibility for the ward kitchen, ensuring it is clean at all times, including discarding out of date food and rotate stock.
- To co-ordinate extra meal requirements if the need arise.
- To receive and welcome families and visitors to the ward and liaise as appropriate with staff.
- To transport equipment consumables and written information as required.
- To maintain up to date records and information.
- To respond swiftly to requests for general information.
- To report complaints and incidents, taking the appropriate action.
- To be aware of any Trust changes to new food hygiene, change to waste etc
