An opportunity has arisen in the Finance Department for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Finance Apprentice. During your contract you will rotate around different sections within the department, providing a solid foundation upon which to develop your finance career.

You will be expected to develop the skills to provide a comprehensive and effective administrative service; to support a smooth and efficient service.

You will be required to work as part of a team, communicating effectively and courteously with a wide range of internal/external personnel.

This is a full time post of 37.5 hours a week. A proportion of time will be spent studying towards an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.

1. To support staff in the team and liaise with other relevant departments.

2. Input, retrieve and collect data and information using the finance system.

3. To deal with enquiries both in person and on the telephone, from hospital staff in a polite and helpful manner and refer these as appropriate.

5. To support the team in the delivery of finance training events and workshops.

6. To maintain confidentiality at all times.

7. To achieve the relevant Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification within the specified time frame.

8. Attend all of the training sessions for the programme, whenever necessary and undertake any necessary written work at home during the length of the course.

9. To gain experience of the duties performed across the different rotation teams.

10.To act as an ambassador for Apprenticeships and participate in events.

11. Any other duties as deemed appropriate by senior staff.
