- Job description- We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated team members with excellent planning, communication and data handling skills who are passionate about managing WR. Working with both National and Area colleagues, you’ll help provide direction, lead on technical water resources issues, support the delivery and management of projects including Water Resource Management Plans, Drought Plans and investment programmes. You will also support the management of risks, maximise outcomes.
Work will include but not be limited to the following:

- Supporting other teams and team members on complex WR technical issues;
- Working with Water Companies, Consultants and abstractor sector;
- Leading on technical water resources tasks including permitting, dry weather incident management and strategic planning activities;
- Using data and innovative ways of presenting it to help steer delivery;
- Building and maintaining relationships with others to help achieve the best outcomes.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- The Integrated Environmental Planning (IEP) team is predominantly a water planning team with specialists in water quality and water resources, that use data and evidence to plan and prioritise the delivery of environmental outcomes. We achieve our outcomes by working with others, bringing people together to ensure we are focusing on the right activities to drive major investment from others. You'll participate in a wider national community of diverse professionals working in water resources management.
- Experience/skills required- You will have proven ability / expert knowledge that incorporates at least some of the following:

- An environmental degree and/or experience in water resources work;
- Strong communication, influencing and networking skills;
- Good organisational skills and ability to plan, track, deliver and evaluate work.
- Experience of translating guidance and instructions into local delivery;
- Experience of using evidence to explore problems/propose effective and innovative solutions;
- Ability to bring people together and inspire collaboration/information sharing;
- Ability to demonstrate how you take decisions/solve problems;
- Ability to coach/mentor others to improve resilience within the environment planning community.

It will be advantageous to have an understanding of the concept and context of Drought Plan Management and Water Resources and a Local and Regional scale.
It will be advantageous to have additional skills in a related technical discipline such as WR modelling, hydrology, licencing, supply and demand forecasting.
