**A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KITCHEN PORTER AT THE MERCURE PAIGNTON**
- What you'll be doing..._

Reporting to the Senior Soux Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following.
- Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
- Collect and wash up pots and pans.
- Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery.
- Unload food and equipment deliveries.
- Keep the storeroom organised.
- Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised.

To succeed in the role of **Kitchen Porter**, you will need the following qualities and skills.
- A committed team player.
- Good knowledge of UK hygiene laws.
- Good understanding of kitchen and kitchen appliance cleaning techniques.
- Fluency in English.
