**About the Actuarial Analyst (Reinsurance) role**:
As our **Actuarial Analyst (Reinsurance)** you will play a vital role in the VitalityLife reinsurance team by helping the team meet treaty requirements, run reinsurance tenders and analyse reinsurance structures.

Working with actuaries and actuarial analysts in the UK, systems analysts in South Africa and UK based reinsurers.

**Your responsibilities as our Actuarial Analyst (Reinsurance) will include**:

- Responsible for running new business reinsurance tenders with the Head of Reinsurance. Responsibilities include producing the tender proposal document data, analysing the rates received from the reinsurers and communicating the results to internal stakeholders
- Responsible for analysing changes to existing reinsurance arrangements such as reinsurance rate reviews and reinsurance structure changes. This includes the production and analysis of results for these changes
- Working with the product development team on the impact of product changes from a reinsurance perspective. Providing the link between the product development team and the reinsurers, ensuring that reinsurance arrangements for new products/product changesare appropriate
- Responsible for writing the reinsurance system specifications document for any new reinsurance treaties and changes to existing reinsurance treaties
- Assist in reviewing treaty addendums for any required changes to existing treaties
- Assisting in the provision of monthly reinsurance accounts for various reinsurers and ensuring the reinsurance accounts are accurate and complete
- Build good relationships with reinsurance and liaise with them to answer any queries they have

**What we’re looking for in our Actuarial Analyst (Reinsurance)**:
**Essential**
- Actuarial student (approximately 6-8 exams completed)
- Degree level or equivalent - has in-depth knowledge in own discipline, gained through significant work experience in a relevant role or sector
- Experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Access, as well as R/SQL
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills - both written and verbal
- Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal
- Ability to grasp concepts of a technical nature quickly
- Ability to develop a sound understanding of the underlying business environment
- Good time management and ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to multi-task, managing several projects concurrently
- Flexibility, ability to investigate and reconcile differences in outputs
- Positive approach and attitude to problem-solving
- Results driven and self motivated
- Able to document work well
- Professional manner
- Organised

**Desirable**
- Experience of Prophet (actuarial modelling software) or similar software package
- Experience of working within project teams
- Experience of dealing with clients and stakeholders
