About the Job

The purpose of the role is to provide support as and when required to cover sickness and annual leave, to a lady who has a physical disability and uses a wheelchair. Duties will include providing support within the home, attending appointments, to be able to drive, assisting with her personal needs, as well as some household duties.

Exception applied under the Equality Act 2010 - Female PAs only.

**Main Tasks**:
Assist with showering and hair washing.
To be a companion and provide support with daily living tasks around the house and garden.
To be flexible and available with a short amount of notice
To accompany me to appointments to the doctors, hospital etc.,and to go shopping.
To support me and keep me company on days out to places I enjoy going to.
To support me to do my hobbies such as swimming in the local pool.
Access local amenities and services as require.
To help maintain a clean and safe environment.
To ensure that due consideration is always given to my personal health and safety.
Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.
Hold a full clean driving licence, and while accompanying me on occasions, be willing to drive my automatic car.
Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed.

**Special Conditions**:
A Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and two satisfactory references are conditional for the post. This is a free and confidential process.
