An interesting and varied role as Fire Safety Advisor has become available at the Trust. As part of the fire safety team you will have the opportunity to lead on fire safety in our hospitals, community and corporate buildings. Guiding colleagues through fire risk assessments, training and expert guidance on all fire related matters.

You will work with a variety of colleagues in the Estates, clinical and non-clinical areas being involved in new building projects as well as upgrades to the fire detection, prevention and firefighting equipment.

The role would suit someone who is dynamic a great communicator and flexible with extensive experience in the fire services industry.

If you have strong customer service skills, excellent organisational and IT skills, can communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels we look forward to hearing from you.

**A varied role involving**:

We are a large mental health trust delivering services to the whole of Norfolk and Suffolk. We operate from over 40 different locations with a variety of building types, sizes and uses. This role is predominantly to provide fire safety advice within the Norfolk area but the role itself is cross County boundaries and the post holder can be based in either Norwich or Ipswich.

**The postholder will**:
Assist the Trusts professional lead (Fire Safety Manager) with all fire related issues at all of the Trusts properties.

The post holder will be responsible for technical and general Fire Safety Advice, completion of detailed fire risk assessments in accordance with HTM05 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005, including the provision of Fire Safety training within the Trust.

The post will require a comprehensive approach to ensure that fire safety issues are recognised, planned and implemented in an appropriate manner.

**Qualifications**:
Essential
- Fire engineering/ Engineering science, or fire /fire safety degree; or extensive experience and knowledge in fire safety.
- Certificate in training practice or extensive experience of preparing and delivering training.
- Membership of a professional organisation (e.g. the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or the institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO).

Desirable
- Practical knowledge and interpretation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

**Skills**:
Essential
- You are able to communicate effectively to ensure high standards of care, treatment, service or support as appropriate to your role
- Able to provide a customer focussed service
- Ability to undertake fire safety audits, including in complex health care premises

Experience

Essential
- Experience and knowledge of undertaking fire risk assessments.
- Experience of preparing and delivering training courses.
- Experience of working across organisational boundaries to improve standards.

Desirable
- Practical knowledge and interpretation of the Regulatory Refor
