Farm Assistant

Churchfields requires a vibrant, outgoing person to play a pivotal role in the smooth running of our farm and fun farm operations. This person will be able to help us deliver a memorable customer experience to each guest by working at the forefront of our farm and events team. Being able to engage effectively with our customers is essential as well as good communication within our small and friendly team.
Work activities:
- Delivering farm handling sessions and demonstrations
- Upholding exemplary standards of animal care ensuring individual animals needs are met. Tasks to include feeding, watering, sweeping, mucking out and performing health checks
- Maintaining farm equipment where necessary
- Helping maintain the presentation and cleanliness in all areas of the business
- Follow routines and daily jobs schedules
- Building sets, stages and displays for our many events
- Support colleagues in other business areas
- Tractor driving
You must be comfortable in front of an audience and be flexible with an outgoing, cheerful disposition and the ability to "muck in" as part of a small team is essential. Also, a friendly happy person, willing to help other team members as well as visitors and be able to work in an unsupervised environment as well as supervising younger team members at various times.
Away from hands on visitor duties, you would ideally possess a basic level of animal husbandry knowledge (small and farm animals), ideally backed up by a relevant qualification. Also upkeep/landscaping/maintenance skills to ensure all areas of the farm look their best.
A clean driving licence is essential.
Development and progression within the team will be available for those seeking personal growth.
Hours will be flexible and variable across a 7 day rota which will include a day at the weekend and bank holidays.

**Salary**: £7.48-£11.85 per hour
