To provide an efficient and quality housekeeping service at Sheffield Health and Social Care’s Substance Misuse Service.

The Sheffield Treatment and Recovery Team (START) is a progressive, dynamic Directorate at the forefront of delivering high quality and effective drug and alcohol services in Sheffield.

This post would suit an extremely well-motivated individual that can provide effective housekeeping support to the service. We are a very busy service and will require the individual to be flexible as they will be required to work across two City Centre sites.

The service is made up of a large multidisciplinary team of doctors, clinical nurse specialists, social workers, recovery workers and administrative staff.

**The hours of work are**:
26.25 hours per week, variable shifts to cover 7am-12:15pm Monday to Friday

The role holder will;
- Ensure the daily cleaning of toilets within service user and staff areas within the Service.
- Ensure the daily cleaning of clinic rooms and service user waiting areas.
- Daily emptying of waste bins and disposal of rubbish from the allocated areas. Recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic and metal appropriately in the allocated bins on sites.
- Regular clean all corridors, offices, rooms, and stairs as listed on the agreed work schedule.
- Daily test and monitor for legionnaires following Trust guidelines.
- Carry out duties following the required Trust Health & Safety Policies and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
- Promptly report any faults, breakages and incidents relating to the work area.
- Regularly complete and adhere to work schedules for the designated areas of responsibility, particular attention to standards of care given to the clinical areas.
- Monitor stock levels and liaise with appropriate designated persons to ensure adequate quantities of cleaning materials.
- Ensure the premises and work areas are secure before going off duty.
- Attend training and retraining sessions regarding Health & Safety, COSHH or other statutory training in liaison with the Building Manager or her delegated deputy.
- Co-operate with the Admin/Buildings Manager and work as part of a team. Participate in team meetings and supervision when required.
- In the event of absence of other housekeeping staff, due to annual leave, sick leave would need to be prepared to cover their priority areas, with particular regard to service user/public areas, toilets and bins.
- Undertake any other duties as may be delegated by the Admin/Building Manager that are relevant to the post.
- Maintain effective liaison and communications within the Substance Misuse Service and with agencies outside of the Substance Misuse Service in relation to service user care.
