**About The Role**

We are seeking high-quality, experienced and capable security officers for a retail store in Oldham, Greater Manchester - with start dates expected in the next 4-6 weeks. Successful applicants must be confident in deterring; apprehending; and detaining shoplifters. Applicants should display a positive attitude, be confident managing conflict in a professional manner and exercising powers of arrest in relation to retail crime. Experience in a similar role is desirable.

**Essential Criteria**
- A valid, in-date and verifiable SIA Security Guarding, Door Supervisor or Close Protection License
- Right to work documents
- Excellent timekeeping
- Conflict management skills
- Communication skills
- Listening skills with an ability to act on instruction from client management teams
- Teamwork skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Emotional intelligence
- Situational awareness
- An ability to write security related reports and statements
- Proficient in writing witness statements (although training can be provided)
- Smart and presentable appearance

**Desirable Criteria**
- Own transport
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including common law powers (where preventing a breach of the peace); section 3 Criminal Law Act 1967; and section 24A PACE 1984 (where arresting shoplifters).
- Previous experience within the security industry and apprehending shoplifters
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to interact and engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Flexibility
