Trainee Estimator

Our client are seeking to employ a **Trainee Estimator**to join their existing team.This company are a professional and high performing civil engineering contractor providing a range of turnkey services within the traffic industry. They arebased in Glasgow.

The Trainee Estimator role will include estimating, putting together costs, technical evaluation, providing documentation for tenders, liaising with contractors, managing the commercial aspect of the project through to completion.

The Trainee Estimator will have the opportunity to join a tight knit team and it is incredibly important to our client that the Estimator who joins them is a personable and ambitious individual who is looking to remain with an employer for many years. **Trainee Estimator - Position Overview**
- Preparation of detailed cost plans / budget guidance for client presentation and review
- Thorough examination of quotes, checking every element of the scope / brief is accounted for within the pricing
- Assisting with management of material costs
- Supporting the wider estimating department
- Creating order files and job sheet
- Securing orders by negotiating contracts
- Additional responsibilities to be discussed at interview stage

**Trainee Estimator - Position Requirements**
- A strong awareness of the balance of risk and profit is essential
- Good commercial understanding of the market and market values
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook
- Good all round communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks in line with deadlines

**Trainee Estimator - Position Remuneration**
- Salary between £20,000 and £25,000
- 35 hour week
- Monday to Friday
- 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays
- Standard pension
- Close between Christmas and New year
- Parking on site
- Progression opportunities available
