On the back of several significant key contract wins Milestone Infrastructure is now looking to expand our work winning team. We are looking to recruit an Estimator to work on our strategic highways tenders, based out of our Beaconsfield head office.

Milestone Infrastructure is the UKs leading highways maintenance contractor, looking after over 48000 km of roads, 300,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with mínimal impact to local communities. Our services include highways term maintenance, street lighting, highway technology and infrastructure projects.

As an Estimator you will be part of our Strategic Work Winning Team who are responsible for winning work and growing the business. You will be responsible for pricing and developing bids for highways and street lighting term maintenance contracts (£20m+ pa). You will work closely with the bid team and will** **assist the business to secure profitable work by producing robust tender estimates. You will lead the development of client tender information into a comprehensive price for tender submission.
- Please note, the main office location is Beaconsfield for this role, however we are able to consider Hybrid and remote working with travel to our office and sites as required._

**As an Estimator your duties & responsibilities will be**:

- Winning work by producing tenders and preparing all financial elements of tender submissions.
- Preparing accurate prices for materials, labour and equipment based on client drawings and specifications.
- Creating, analysing, and maintaining correct and accurate quantities and thorough take-offs from designs/data sets
- Compiling subcontractor and material quotation packages
- Reviewing subcontractor and material returns with the procurement team to ensure all tenders are based on real market quotations.
- Understanding current market prices and benchmark our solutions to increase success rates.
- Assisting with developing prices for preliminaries and overhead costs
- Working as part of the tender team providing financial input
- Pricing tenders using the Candy Estimating software package
- Preparing tender papers detailing tender build-ups and present at reviews as required
- Assisting with the completion of tender handover documents
- Assisting the tender team in any post tender negotiations
- Assisting with operational projects when required
- Adherence to Milestone policies and procedures
- Ad hoc duties as job requires

**Skills & Knowledge Requirements**
- Degree level education or previous relevant estimating experience, ideally in highways
- Particular attention to detail with good project management skills
- Sound mathematical and numeracy skills, with the ability to solve problems analytically
- Understanding of contract conditions (including NEC), specifications and drawings
- Ability to achieve tight deadlines under pressure
- Ability to input data accurately and quickly identify errors
- Manage and prioritise own workload
- Methodical approach and ability to close-out tasks under a ‘right first time’ approach
- Ability to communicate at all levels, both verbally and written
- Flexible towards travel
- Experience using estimating software and excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
