We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take the next step in their career, in the role of a Controller / Dispatcher in our Cornwall contract, as a Dispatcher you will be responsible for planning and controlling the daily movement of the medically eligible patients to and from NHS Healthcare facilities via non emergency patient transport ambulances.

We are looking for someone to work 37.5 hours a week, working rotating early and late shifts between the hours of 07:00 and 20:00.

**Your duties will include**:

- Planning and controlling of daily ambulance journeys transporting medically eligible patients to and from NHS healthcare facilities.
- Controlling a complex operation consisting of over 75 ambulances delivering 550 patient journeys per day.

**Essential criteria**
- Experience of working in similar transport control environment, using logístical and planning skills
- Be familiar with computerized route planning software
- Good telephone manner
- Be customer service focused and able to effectively handle sensitive situations
- Have a good geographic knowledge of the county
- Be able to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to take initiative
- Working effectively as a part of the team

**Desired criteria**
- Experience of dispatching and planning NEPTS journeys
- Good knowledge and understanding of the geographical area covered
