We currently have a vacancy for a Fostering Support Officer in the Countywide Fostering Service. The team is primarily dedicated to the recruitment of foster carers for children and young people in care.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, creative, and enthusiastic. You will be required to support social work staff, respond to enquiries from prospective foster carers, coordinate marketing initiatives/ events, manage social media content, and be confident presenting to members of the public at recruitment events. You will also have a flexible commitment to occasionally work some out of office hours as and when required by the business. Some knowledge of safeguarding children or children in care/fostering is also desirable.

You will have the ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality. Recording, ICT, and organisational skills are also essential requirements, along with an ability to work on your own initiative and as an effective member of a team. There are other social work support officers in the team which means you will be supported as you develop in your role.

The post is countywide and carries an authorised car user allowance or taxi service for disabled people. The Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team is based at Meadow House although flexible/ hybrid working is available, dependent on the needs of the team.
