**12522 - Interim Financial Controller(Maternity cover)**

**Summary**

Our client in Loughborough is seeking a capable, highly motivated Financial Controller to support their finance team and senior management on full-time interim basis (maternity cover )
- initially circa 8-12-months.

You will represent the firm as company secretary and authorised signatory, as well as forming part of the Senior Management team supporting the company and the Managing Director with compliance at all times. Key duties include:
Management Accounts & Profitability
- Ensure statutory and Group requirements as well as IFRS are adhered to at all times, maintaining an awareness for future changes to legislation and implementing system and process changes in a timely manner to provide for upcoming changes,
- Ensure Group Reporting deadlines are adhered to, i.e. Accounting, Controlling, Treasury
- Manage accruals and prepayments system appropriately,
- Ensure reconciliations balance and resolve any discrepancies, i.e. FI to CO-PA in P14, P14 with P19, bank balances with SAP P14 accounts and Coupa Treasury,
- Ensure quality of monthly cost centre and contribution margin reporting and collaborate with management team,
- Timely preparation of forecasts and budgets, liaising with senior management and managing director,
- Provide monthly management reports on financials, update local reporting package to suit business, challenge variances or slow development of KPIs and follow-up action plans,
- Provide ad hoc reports and support to the senior management team to meet business requirements,
- Take an active role in the strategic development of the company working closely with the Managing Director and Senior Management,
- Pre-plan, manage and optimise year-end audits, liaising with the auditors, Group teams, Finance Team, senior management and Managing Director,
- Preparation of statutory accounts and Group accounts in line with IFRS,
- Preparation of accruals and provisions in line with IFRS and Group guidelines monthly, quarterly and yearly,
- Oversee asset register, acquisitions, disposals and depreciation,
- Manage, plan and monitor investments,
- Oversee company leasing policies and ensure accordance with IFRS,
- Calculate and update labour rates in accordance with IFRS, monitor over-/underconsumption and explain deviations,
- Support Sales and Service comparing pre
- and post-costing of orders to determine measures for securing future margins.

Finance & Cash
- Manage financial requirements and ensure liquidity, liaising with Group Treasury and banks,
- Prepare local and Group cashflow forecasts,
- Maintain banking systems incl. user access and authorisation rights,
- Manage working capital, initiate improvements and follow-up measures, reporting to Group,
- Approve payments and transfers, ensuring compliance at all times,
- Liaise with corporate process solutions and shared services to ensure smooth accounts payable, accounts receivable and intercompany processes and resolve issues,
- Approve non-PO invoices in VIM ensuring compliance at all times,
- Manage credit control and ensure policy is adhered to,
- Negotiate with customers / managers to find acceptable terms for both parties on high value orders balancing the risk,
- Ensure overdue receivables and disputes are managed and resolved appropriately and provided for according to IFRS,
- Proceed with court action with non-payers in accordance with the credit control policy,
- Oversee creation and maintenance of vendor and customer master data,
- Ensure expenses are handled in a timely manner and in accordance with HMRC guidelines,
- Oversee incoming and outgoing methods of payment, i.e. credit card payments, petty cash.

Tax & Inventory
- Compliance with VAT guidelines in England, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Germany,
- Set-up in SAP for correct VAT accounting for English, Northern Irish, Irish and German VAT,
- Accuracy and timeliness of VAT submissions for English, Northern Irish, Irish and German VAT,
- Prepare and submit corporation tax return ensuring compliance with company policy and statutory guidelines, prepare quarterly calculation for group,
- Calculation of deferred taxes in accordance with IFRS and company guidelines,
- Ensure double taxation compliance,
- Monitor Relevant Contracts Taxes and reclaim from Revenue,
- Valuation,
- Stock taking,
- Working capital management,
- Monitoring and reporting of work in process.

Administration
- Act as company secretary i.e. prepare and attend board meetings and annual general meetings, ensure all reporting to Companies House meets statutory requirements,
- Local compliance officer, i.e. ensure new group standards and changes in local legislation are implemented, induction of new employees, monitoring and reporting of incidents, completion of bi-annual compliance surveys,
- Risk management i.e. ongoing assessment of risks for the company working closely with the managing director and liaising with the senior management team where necessary, mitigation and follow up of risks, bi-annual group reporting of risks,
