Agronomist

Job Description

My client is currently looking to recruit an Agronomist to join their existing Team.
The business has been successfully trading for over 40 years in the Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Leicestershire counties. They are specialists in the advice, sale and supply of agrochemicals, seeds and agricultural tyres to farmers and growers.

You will be responsible for providing growers with technical recommendations which are tailored to their individual requirements. The role also entails providing support at every stage of the crop production process. As well as offering guidance on agricultural legislation, you will provide a full field walking service and deliver solutions in order to achieve optimal yield and quality, whilst meeting the correct specifications for end market. You will have an understanding of micro nutrients and their effect on crops and a knowledge of the environmental schemes currently available. My client is a promotor of the vital importance of soil health and plant health as this is a key building block to achieving a cost effective return on investment

The Role:

- BASIS qualification, FACTS an advantage but not essential
- Full clean driving licence

You will have:

- A passion and desire to succeed with strong resilience and a 'can do' positive attitude
- An understanding on what it takes to be a successful agronomist
- Self motivation. To be able to work alone and also as part of a team
- Some level of commercial awareness
- A flexible approach to your work

My client is privately owned and are therefore in a position to be able to choose not to put any pressure on their agronomists to promote any particular brand of product or set unachievable sales target
