Tool Grinder

Diverse British Manufacturing organisation, exporting goods to over 50 countries worldwide, seeks an experienced **Tool Grinder** to work within an established team. As **Tool Grinder,** your role would be to perform precision smoothing, sharpening, polishing, or grinding/regrinding of various Progression Press Tooling, using conventional machinery.

The position of **Tool Grinder** is offered as a permanent contract with competitive salary (dependent upon experience), flexible working hours between 36 and 40 hours per week, dependent upon work requirements, modern, clean working environmentand immediate start available.

**Tool Grinder** duties would include:

- Dress grinding wheels, according to specifications
- Monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary: stop machines when problems occur
- Inspect and measure work pieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications
- Identify defective pieces
- Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines to grind metal work pieces such as dies, parts, and tools
- File or finish surfaces of work pieces, using prescribed hand tools
- Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts
- Remove and replace worn or broken machine parts, using hand tools
- Compute numbers, widths, and angles of cutting tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges, and adjusts tools to produce specified cuts
- Time served apprenticeship
- Press tooling and manufacturing background
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques to maximize the effective manufacture of distribution of goods
- Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance
- High attention to detail
- Logical thinking and problem solving ability

- Ability to concentrate
- Must be motivated and able to work on own initiative

**Location**:Redditch, Worcestershire

**Hours of Work**: Mon-Thurs 7 am to 4.30 pm, Fri 7 am to 11 am

**Salary**: Negotiable dependent upon experience
