- **What is a DSE or ergonomics assessor and what do they do?**_

As a DSE (Display Screen Equipment) or ergonomics assessor, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that people who work at desk be in the office or home are comfortable and healthy. You will carry out workstation or desk assessments in line with DSE regulations.

In your role, you will be the expert that employees turn to for advice on setting up their workstations correctly. This involves guiding them on how to adjust their chairs, keyboards, mice, and screens to achieve the best possible comfort. You'll also be responsible for spotting any potential risks at their desks, such as poor posture or unsuitable equipment setup, which could lead to discomfort or health issues.

Your keen eye will be essential for identifying employees who might have existing health conditions or musculoskeletal (MSK) issues. These individuals could be more prone to discomfort or injury when using their equipment. Part of your job will be to suggest practical solutions, ranging from small adjustments in their current setup to recommending new, ergonomic tools.

You will carry out workstation assessments for both home and the office depending on where the employee carries out their work. This could involve you visiting employees in-person or if it's more suitable carrying out the workstation assessment by video call.

Lastly, you'll be responsible for compiling a comprehensive report after each training and assessment session. This report will detail all the advice you've provided and any recommendations you've made. This documentation is crucial for ensuring that employers and employees have the information they need to maintain a safe and comfortable workspace. If you're passionate about helping others and have a detail-oriented mindset, this role is a perfect fit for you
