Seasonal Worker

Gateshead Council are looking to employ seasonal workers to support Street scene staff in delivering the service throughout the summer months, we are looking to appoint the following._
- Street Scene Operatives, Manual Grade B posts._
- Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate their ability to carry out Horticultural and Cleansing tasks to a high standard and be competent in the use of all related grounds maintenance equipment (including tractors and plant for B Grade post)_
- It is essential that applicants have a clean full UK driving licence._
- Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified individuals for the post of Seasonal Worker within Street Scene services._
- The Seasonal worker role is temporary position from the end of March until the end of October. Hours vary depending upon the role undertake but are either 37 hours or 42 hours per week._
- Based in Street Scene and reporting to the service Foreman, you will be responsible for providing cleansing, grass cutting, refuse collection services across the borough (depending upon your role). Previous experience of this type of work is essential although full induction training will be provided. As a team player you will have the ability to develop effective relationships with work colleagues and communicate effectively with the public during the course of your duties. You will also be self-motivated and be able to work on your own initiative although direction and guidance will be provided._
