**Food service Assistant**

**The Royal - Wallingford**

The Royal is a hotel, restaurant and bar offering a warm and friendly welcome. It has recently been refurbished with a fresh modern interior to provide a comfortable space to socialise with friends and family. The Royal team have a passion for great food, service and in preparation for spring and summer we are now looking to expand our team.

**Main Duties**:
Provide welcoming and high-quality hospitality and customer service at all times.

Assist the General Manager and Assistant Food and Beverage Manager in all areas of the catering operation (serving a wide range of internal and external events and meeting dietary requirements), including laying and clearing tables in restaurant or garden areas depending on operational needs.

General cleaning of dining and function rooms.

Cleaning and polishing of equipment including glassware and cutlery and crockery.

To serve food in a hygienic way and to know about the food you are serving and the ingredients for guests with allergies.

Make sure all cleaning products are available where they are needed.

To ensure that you are correctly dressed and adhere to high personal hygiene standards.

Act within Health and Safety Policy and procedures to ensure safe working environment for all.

Maintain a professional working relationship with the food service team and other departments.

Conduct manual domestic duties, including manual handling and carrying.

**Qualities, Experience and Qualifications**
- Clean smart appearance, friendly and professional approach, with an interest in food.
- On-job training will be given.
- NVQ level one, certificate in basic food hygiene.
- COSHH training.
- Food allergy training.

**Ability to Commute**: Wallingford (required)

**Work Location**: In person. This job is located in a village around 10 miles from Oxford. The property is a beautiful recently refurbished pub, restaurant and hotel. The property is a professional, modern but relaxed environment with a keen focus on customer service and ensuring the gest experience is paramount.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
