New role created within our UK wide bulk fuels business who are responsible for the Capital Works Engineering projects on their Assets

Are you are chartered recruitment professional from the Oil and Gas sector seeking your next challenge?

This position will be supporting on a Tank Farm Project in the UK

and delivering on other Capital Projects

Location: Gosport

**Salary**: £60,000 + 12% Pension + 38 days annual leave

Responsibilities include:
Ensure that contracts are put in place that are the most suitable to ensure delivery of requirements in a timely & cost-effective manner. This will involve a focus on procurement of long-lead items;
Contribute to the evaluation of bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors/criteria;
Manage contractual arrangements through the procurement cycle to ensure that goods and services are delivered on time, to specification, within budget and provide optimum value for money;
Maintain a register of tenders and current contracts, and ensure timely planning to advance the procurement strategy for expiring contracts;
Review management information regularly to identify areas of opportunities for cost savings and avoidance of additional costs being incurred through planned and effective negotiation, process improvements, leverage, consolidation of suppliers and contractsand support the ongoing procurement and category strategy;
Implement the Procurement Policy and procedures, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders;
Ensure early planning & appropriate purchasing strategies for budgeted, planned (and unplanned) projects and maintenance requirements,

Assist and act as a Procurement Advisor to the Senior Leadership Team for large projects or when major expenditure is involved;
Successfully handle disputes and claims with suppliers;
Ensure the drafting of sound contracts using approved contracting principles, insurance requirements, and handling any significant contractual deviations with the legal resources.

Your experience

Ideally you will be a MCIPS (Member Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) preferably with a relevant degree, with strong project management skills. More important, is having extensive experience (5 years or more) at a senior level able to demonstratesuccessful delivery of procurement solutions. An in depth understanding, if not a working knowledge, of public sector procurement requirements is essential, including OJEU and other public procurement regulations and NEC3 contracts.

Experience within the oil industry or other top tier COMAH operations would be an advantage, as would working with a multi-disciplined user base across multiple locations.
