**ASG Technician**

**Salary/package**: Upto £25,000- £38,000 per annum and comprehensive company benefits

**Location**: Midlands, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and surrounding areas.

ASG Technician - Midlands Act as part of a multi-skilled team, you will be undertaking corrective and planned maintenance across a wide range of Arqiva’s critical broadcast antennas, telecommunication antennas and associated combiner systems
- Carry out a program of preventative and when necessary corrective maintenance on a wide variety of critical broadcast antennas, and telecommunication antennas systems across the UK
- Work with the Senior Antenna Engineer to ensure that we have sufficient spares available to meet our contractual obligations within your area. Ensure that the record of these spares is kept in the correct manner as laid out by the processes of the department
- Work within the operating processes laid down for your department and the company as a whole
- Take part in a mandatory call out rota to ensure that an escalation route and emergency response is always available from within the Airwork’s team
- To be familiar with the antenna related Disaster and Emergency equipment in order to utilise it effectively when called upon
- To act as an internal and external consultant providing specialist advice on matters relating to your business area
- Ability to work methodically to fault find on a variety of antenna and combining systems
- Provision of written technical reports as requested relating to the work that you are responsible for?????
- Contribute to the working processes and policies of the department and help in driving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Airworks Team
- To supervise support staff - internal and contract engineers and others as necessary
- Work with others within the department and elsewhere within the company to deliver project based work. This may include but not be limited to such things as new equipment installation and commissioning, installation surveys, new bid work and site re-engineeringor decommissioning
- Supervise specialist 3rd party contractors in the delivery of antenna related project works
- Promote an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within Arqiva
- Maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the Arqiva Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and Arqiva assets.
- Carry out RF Surveys as and when required for operational needs as well as for accreditation purposes
- Working shift patterns with 1 in 7/8 weeks working On Call

**Must haves**
- Experience in testing equipment such (Field Fox, Site Master, VNA etc)
- Experience in working at height, mast rescue techniques
- Driving licence (full UK)
- Experience of maintenance and fault resolution; supports root cause analysis to resolve complex or recurring problems
- Ability to work methodically and accurately to high standards within a pressured environment
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong willingness to learn and expand upon technical knowledge
- Willing to travel throughout the UK and abroad as well as stay away from your home location for periods of time as required by the work being undertaken.
- Physically fit.

**Might haves**:

- In depth experience of antenna and RF equipment design, installation, commissioning and maintenance, as well as the associated test equipment there of.
- Proven supervisory skills
- An understanding of rigging equipment and techniques would be an advantage.
