Dunfermline, United Kingdom Cornerstone Community Care Full time

**Time to kick those Monday blues to the kerb and start a career you'll love** If you share our values and want to make a difference then look no further

Our amazing #TeamDrum in Dunfermline are now on the look out for caring, patient and flexible colleagues to join them as Support Practitioners on a part-time (16 - 30 hours per week) permanent basis. We also have relief job opportunities too if you're looking for a bit more flexibility.

**You don't need to have experience in care as a Support Worker to begin a career with us as** we recruit on values and transferrable skills; you will receive full training and be supported by our team to learn the role, there will always a workmate around to guide you. **We'll pay you for your training and even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too**

**The Role**

The great thing about this job is that no two days are ever the same. We are fortunate enough to support four people with profound and complex needs within their fully adapted, purpose built home complete with ceiling hoists and adaptive technology. Three of the people we support are wheelchair users and require assistance with all aspects of their personal care and daily lives. Therefore, our role involves moving and assisting. The people we support are non-verbal and have limited communication, getting to know them will take time but is so rewarding once you do.

As a Support Practitioner, you'll assist with all aspects of daily living, including going to appointments, meal preparation, finances and housework. Whilst personal care is a large portion of this role as a support practitioner, the job is so much more than that.

We encourage the people we support to live a valued life and have a variety of experiences. We plan an array of days out and this is made easier as the people we support have their own transport. We also arrange a number of activities in their home, from arts and crafts to alpaca visits. We'll be looking to you to bring a positive attitude, be hard working and motivated with all aspects of the job and in return you will learn a variety of skills, be an advocate for the people we support and join them in leading a fulfilling life.

**What we need you to bring;**
- Good communication skills
- A caring attitude and approach
- A positive approach to learning
- The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus too)
- Confidence in the use of computers

**Shift Patterns**

Our sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional **£87** for every sleepover you work. Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus an additional £20 per waking night worked.

**Have any questions?** If you'd like to find out more, please contact Claire Agnew on 07866946732.

**If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
