Interior Designer

We are looking to strengthen our team with an additional interior designer who has creative flair and a great attitude.

This role could be part-time or full-time and would be based at our Havant, Hampshire head office.

The job description is set out below:
General
- Organise and maintain samples
- Meet reps and review new products
- Assist with and prepare project presentation work - proposals, plans, material boards, look and feel etc
- Attend client meetings and site visits with senior designers or sales people. Take meeting notes
- Be comfortable working across a range of projects at any one time
- Create 3D SketchUp models and walkthroughs
- Communicate any issues, problems or concerns about a project and assist with solving the issue
- Read and understand regulations and standards etc (know what to refer too if you do not know)
- Demonstrate leadership skills in assisting team to produce quality projects, take initiative
- Actively search for new products and share with the team
- Stay up to date with current trends
- Organise your workload efficiently and meet deadlines
- Shows a good eye for colour, materials, scale, and balance
- Demonstrate ability at exploring new ideas in design
- Develop a good knowledge of office interior furniture and materials.
- Have good hand sketching skills and be able to quickly sketch something in order to show ideas and concepts

CAD / Specification
- Draw with accuracy and to Spectrum standards
- Know how to use drawing register
- Know how to use rev clouds/ notes/ drawing titles etc
- Create innovative plans/ designs in plan and elevation
- Has a good understanding of construction and technical drawings
- Produce door, lighting, finishes and furniture schedules
- Can interpret what is needed for the ‘look’ and select appropriate finishes and FF&E within budget
- Design simple custom furniture and joinery including details
- Produce material boards that comply with DDA standards
- Survey a building accurately and draw up results
- Consistently checks own work for accuracy
