An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Forth Valley Pharmacy Services, working as part of the Medicines Management Team, for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacist to help deliver the medicines management agenda.

The Medicines Management Team is a rapidly developing team that promotes the prescribing of evidence based therapeutics in a cost-effective, safe manner across NHS Forth Valley. The Medicines Management Pharmacist role is an interesting and varied post and you will require a range of essential skills including communication, negotiation, data analysis, IT and project management skills.

Key deliverables will include supporting the FV Formulary review process, identifying opportunities to converge the Forth Valley Formulary and Clinical Guidelines across into the West Region, identifying prescribing efficiencies; prescribing data analysis and report writing; providing expert advice in response to prescribing queries and information requests; and support clinical governance around medicines. The post holder will also contribute to the development of new ways of working/delivering medicines management support.

You will have excellent clinical knowledge and demonstrate critical appraisal and communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Evidence of innovation and delivering clinical or service improvement is essential with a focus on cost-effective prescribing. You must be committed to collaboration and partnership working, demonstrating leadership with outstanding people and engagement skills.

The post is an 18 month seconded position with the hours of work 22.5 hours per week. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
