Cake Decorator

We are looking for an experienced baker & cake decorator to join our small passionate team.

The right individual should have experience baking cakes, ideally on a large scale, and a good foundation of cake decorating skills, particularly with icing cupcakes.

You should be passionate about baking, attention to detail, and be able to produce bakes to the highest of standards.

Applicants will be shortlisted and invited to undertake some basic decorating techniques to demonstrate their skill levels.
- Ideally a minimum of 1 years work experience in a professional kitchen, being able to work both alone and as part of a team.
- A good level of experience at baking cakes, cupcakes and a variety of baked goods. Be able to follow recipes and understand different methods.
- Confidence in handling a piping bag, and pipe cupcakes with ease using a variety of nozzles.
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to fill and layer a sponge cake, crumb coat and finish skim to a high level finish.
- Speed of working, and a sense of urgency, whilst able to maintain the highest quality of output.
- Ability to work well within a small team, and effectively in a busy kitchen.
- Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate - Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and understanding of allergens

**Desirable (not essential) Skills**:

- Experience within a previous bakery, or commercial kitchen
- Previous experience with large scale baking.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 18 per week

**Salary**: £9.00-£11.00 per hour
