As part of our client's packaging team and situated within the Innovation department, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing cutting-edge packaging solutions for their products. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate closely with various departments, ensuring that the packaging meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

**You will be responsible for, but not limited to**:
- Contribute to creative brainstorms to identify new solutions with packaging suppliers that complement food packaging innovation and maximize competitor advantage
- Have the vision to translate concepts into robust, tangible commercial solutions that are fit for purpose, disrupt the fixture a communicate the values of the range identity.
- Work alongside Group Purchasing where appropriate, to incorporate efficiency savings in line with specification criteria, to support business needs
- Ensure all samples are available in line with critical paths and extended timelines are communicated efficiently to the business.
- Be fully conversant with current and future Sustainability agendas incorporating this knowledge into your approach when reporting key step changes
- Present the packaging at feasibility meetings, to verify its suitability to a manufacturing environment and the expectations of production processes
- Create graphical mock-ups to enhance and clearly communicate your concepts.
- Attend customer product submissions, as required, to present your proposals
- Support factory trials, reviewing the operational output to refine or modify the design specification to ensure the final pack is fit for purpose and delivers the necessary outcomes
**What's required?**
- Graduate caliber, with at least two years served within the food packaging industry
- Enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical; experienced in requesting and reviewing packaging costings
- Strong customer service values and a keen sense of urgency with the ability to think on your feet
- An effective communicator with good presentation skills
- Creative, enjoys colour and graphic design, comfortable in relevant packages eg Illustrator, Adobe Suite etc
- Technically confident knowledge in at least one substrate field relevant to food manufacturing e.g. carton board, flexible films, thermoform
- Able to produce mock-ups and have complete confidence as an illustrator to convey your ideas when briefing suppliers
