Learning Mentor - Primary

Payscale: G6 (Full time Equivalent: £27,344 per annum)

Actual Salary Pro rata for part time - Term time only

Actual hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.45am to 1pm

Wednesday 8.45am - 5pm (1 hour lunch break)

Total hours per week 23.75 including lunchtime supervision.

Required to start as soon as possible, we are looking to recruit a Learning Mentor to work across the school.
- work collaboratively with the SENDCo and support with any SEND / social and emotional needs
- support the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children
- work with other professionals in a confidential manner
- have the conviction to hold challenging yet professional conversations
- display congruence and empathy with parents who may find themselves in distressing situations
- understand the needs of a child and put in place a programme of work that will help them to develop emotionally
- become a trustworthy source of support for children and adults
- understand the intricacies of child development and how trauma can impact their lives
- maintain a high degree of emotional resilience
- support children to overcome trauma by using a 'Thrive' approach
