Bradford College is seeking to appoint a Careers Advisor to form part of the college's Careers and Work Experience team. The role of the Careers Adviser is to support FE and HE students with progression routes by delivering high quality careers information, advice and guidance across all college campuses.

As a Careers Advisor you will arrange and deliver careers guidance interviews to FE and HE students and deliver careers and employability group sessions to FE and HE students. You will contribute to a delivering a responsive service to students by delivering careers duty drop-in sessions, managing the careers inbox and contribute to careers communications to students and parents/carers and support the team with social media updates for careers and employability events.

A core function of the role is supporting students with the UCAS process, which is pivotal in our aim to raise aspirations and our mission to work together to transform lives.

Careers Advisors are required to work with FE and HE students across Bradford College’s campus.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable and proactive Careers Adviser with a positive outlook to join our friendly team. You should have a minimum of a Level 4 in Learning & Development Support Services (for children and young people) or Advice & Guidance/or relevant equivalent, a Level 6 in Careers Guidance is preferred but not essential. You should also have GCSEs 9-4 (A*-C) or nationally recognised level 2 qualification or equivalent in Mathematics and English (or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale).

You should have up to date knowledge and experience of CEIAG delivery in an educational setting, and a strong understanding of the careers and employability agenda in relation to Further Education. Knowledge of the local, regional and national labour markets is essential as is being able to evidence your experience of delivery of group workshops and developing careers and employability resources.

Experience of supporting clients to achieve successful outcomes utilising your strong communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise and network with internal and external partners e.g. employers, is a must. You should be able to relate with sensitivity to clients facing a wide variety of personal and social barriers to progression and experience of enabling them to overcome these.
