An exciting opportunity has arisen within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust for a LAS FY2 Doctor to join our busy dynamic Urology Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital. We will have two vacant posts and are looking to recruit with a start date from 2 August 2023. These posts will be contracted for one year initially
- with a view to extend.

The Urology Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital is a busy department, which is friendly and supportive. The Trust doctor will work with a named Consultant supporting him/her in emergency and elective workload but will also be part of a larger team. The Trust doctor will take part in the Hospital at Night rota as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Eastbourne DGH is the Regional Centre for major Robotic Urology. East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has a population area of approximately 500,000 and is committed to developing high quality services to our patients.

We also have a dedicated Urology Investigation Suite within the speciality allowing us to deliver one stop clinical activity, as well as ongoing patient treatments.

The department has 10 Consultants, 8 Registrars, 1 Core Trainee, 3 FY2 trainees, 3 LAS FY2’s, 1 LAS CT2 doctor and two doctors assistants.

The department are also supported by clinical nurse specialists, diagnostic nurses and our own dedicated Urology investigation Suite for diagnostic outpatients.

We will ensure you have access to a dedicated protected training day allowing you to attend operating lists and outpatient activities to help achieve competencies

East Sussex is an area of outstanding natural beauty and considerable historic interest. There is a wide selection of schools in the area, both in the state and private sectors as well as higher education provision. Transport connections are plentiful with good rail links to London, to Europe via the Channel Tunnel or Eurostar and to international airports.
