We are looking for a skilled, experienced Highways Gangers to join our busy Highways Maintenance Operations team based in central Derby.

The role of a highway ganger with be challenging and rewarding one. You will be required to lead a team of operatives on site and direct them in their daily duties. You should be able to encourage, mentor, direct them in their duties as well as your own. You must be flexible enough to carry out reactive, programmed maintenance as well as larger civil scheme delivery, within the public highway with mínimal supervision.

You will need detailed working knowledge and experience relating to highway build, engineering, maintenance techniques and materials along with experience of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991.

You will need experience in carrying out highway maintenance work including pothole repairs, patching, resurfacing, drainage works, major refurbishment schemes, setting out, establishing levels, kerbing, repairing signs and barriers, responding to emergencies and winter maintenance works a current driving licence and willingness to working outside in all weather conditions are essential.
