This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Band 5 adult Speech and Language Therapy rotation programme. Developed through partnership working between the Adult Speech and Language Therapy services across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS) NHS organisations, these rotations offer our Band 5 SLTs a wide range of experiences and opportunities to develop skills in various settings and with different adult client groups. Joining the rotation programme will help to develop a strong understanding of the patient pathway, a unique and versatile skill set and encourage partnership working and clinical interests.

Rampton High Secure Hospital (Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust)

The main duties of the role vary depending on where you are in your rotation. Your will be focusing on an adult population in acute inpatient, high secure forensic services, and community acquired and ASD/ intellectual disability settings. Although the contexts differ, common duties are:
Assessment and formulation of the individual’s speech, language, communication, and dysphagia needs.
Developing advice & recommendations to enable others to care effectively for the individual.
Producing written advice and recommendation for a variety of audiences and develop inclusive communication documents relevant to your caseload.
Being involved in intervention relevant to your case load and deliver training for others to implement inclusive communication environments and safe and healthy mealtimes.
Working with families and carers in an inclusive manner.
Working collaboratively with your Speech & Language Therapy and multidisciplinary colleagues on supporting the individual.
Represent your clients and your profession in multidisciplinary meetings and be involved in the formulation of the person’s needs.
Supporting your team to facilitate student placement where appropriate.

Allied Health Professionals within Nottinghamshire Health care are at the forefront of a range of multi-disciplinary, specialist services for people with complex needs, using their expertise around promoting recovery, enablement and positive risk taking, to add life to years, prevent relapse and reduce risks.

As a speech and language therapist you will provide preventative information and guidance, work to empower parents, carers, other professionals and agencies to support speech, language and communication skills as well as eating and drinking.

You will provide individual assessment, individual and/or group therapy and management, training, advice and liaison through a consultative and coaching approaches, as appropriate.

You will work as part of the wider multi
- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person and family
- centred services through tailored packages of care, training and mentoring in the most appropriate setting, including the client’s home.

You must hold a relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with RCSLT and HCPC or be in your final year of training with the view to graduate by the end of the academic year.
