- To assist in the management of teaching staff on year 12 and year 13 Business and Accounting, in all areas of their role and offer support as appropriate.
- To support the recruitment of both students and staff and to help maintain high expectations.
- To track learner achievement according to value added criteria in order to ensure each learner is able to fulfil his/her potential.
- To conduct and facilitate formal and informal meetings, within the different courses and when necessary, report back to the Head of A Level Business and Accounting.

Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a teacher, with the ability to enthuse and innovate, to join our friendly and well established Business department.

**Terms and Conditions**

**Salary**: Paid on the Sixth Form College’s Salary Structure pro to £30,500 to £47,133 per annum (dependent upon experience). Plus a responsibility allowance of £1,282 to £4,512.

**Teaching at Cardinal Newman College**

**We always endeavour to timetable to our staff members’ strengths.**

Full time staff are responsible for 4 classes and _Curriculum Plus_ (one to one support sessions for students, small group work, revision sessions etc).

Where possible, we can timetable flexibly for staff who may need to be on-site later or leave site earlier to accommodate the school run etc., adjusting the FTE appropriately.

For the last few years, we have been able to allow for a week and a half off during October half term and will continue to do so where possible. As well as this, we tend to break up for Summer around early July which is a week earlier than most other colleges.

We have a fantastic specialised pastoral team who, as part of their role, act as tutors and therefore teaching staff do not undertake the role of form tutors.

Following the introduction of a new teaching spine in 2016 whereby incremental rises are linked to performance, we are proud to say that no member of teaching staff had an increment withheld during the academic year 22/23. We believe in supporting staff successes and incremental rises are a key part of this. As such, we do our up most to work together to avoid withholding the rises wherever possible.

**Why work at Cardinal Newman College?**

We are a happy and thriving Catholic Sixth Form College committed to equality and diversity, welcoming colleagues from all backgrounds into our community irrespective of their religion or belief, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, marital or pregnancy status.

An outstanding college in every aspect, Cardinal Newman is one of the highest performing Sixth Form Colleges nationally for Value Added. We recognise the invaluable contribution our dedicated staff make to the success of our students and the College as whole. As such, our aim is to foster a culture where staff feel valued and supported.

- Generous Pension schemes for both teachers and support staff
