Demand Planner (UK)

Are you an experienced Demand Planner with proven experience in Forecasting and Demand Planning and a passion for FMCG? We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Demand Planner, allowing you to make your mark and further your career within the fast-paced coffee industry. Now is your chance to join our bright and creative team - we’d love to hear from you

A bit about us...

We’re Costa Coffee, masters of our craft since 1971 when the Costa brothers opened their first Roastery in London. A lot has changed since then. You may know us as the UK’s leading coffee Brand, but we can now be found in over 40 countries across EMEA, APAC and the Americas. We’re on a mission like no other as we inspire the world to love great coffee. This is all supported by being part of The Coca-Cola Company.

Along with our leading Retail formats, it’s our ground-breaking FMCG offering and Costa X on-the-go propositions that help us serve our B2B partners across the globe. And as for coffee technology, we’re quite simply trailblazing the industry. Here at Costa, it’s about doing a great job alongside brilliant people who share a passion for growth. And we promise, we’ll always make sure you’re loving your craft.

A bit about the role...
Day to day, you’ll be Responsible for the end-to-end demand planning of a Category across all UK Retail stores, PTS outlets and Express Machines. (Cases/Units sold to stores). Working in collaboration with various internal stakeholders is also a big part of the role. In addition to this:

- You will be using creative flair to create, develop and maintain reporting that supports day-to-day decision-making across both Demand & Supply planning teams.
- Asked to analyse performance, monitor various KPIs and provide a narrative for historic review and learnings.
- Be forward-looking to work with the Supply Planning team to identify and take action on volatile demand and supply concerns. Flagging risks in the short and longer term could impact product Availability to stores, increase Waste write-off costs, cause Occupancy challenges and subsequent potential impacts on company Cash Flow.
- Manage both ‘Core’ and ‘Campaign’ demand plans, aligning with Marketing, Category teams and the promotional calendar. Re-forecast new product launches as quickly and accurately as possible to mitigate risk.
- For specific campaigns, building a bespoke Store Allocation Demand Plan to send limited stock to the right places to optimise Campaign availability and minimise store write-off costs.
- Feed forecasts for all platforms into the Global Central Planning function to collate demand plans for internal company use and shared Suppliers.
- Work with Supply Planning, 3PL and Suppliers to give long-term planning and demand visibility for products on longer lead times to secure sufficient production capacity and mitigate supply risk.
- Responsible for and led the Demand Review in the S&OP process for their Category, working with all the systems and tools implemented by the SC Transformation team to create, review and submit demand plans in said systems to all required deadlines.
- Working closely with the Global S&OP team to ultimately improve system forward-looking forecast capabilities and predicted outcomes.
