**Innovation Business Advisor**

An Innovation Business Advisor is currently being recruited to join a large not for profit based in Manchester

They’re looking for an experienced Business Growth professional who is passionate about Innovation and who is keen help businesses to achieve their growth potential, secure public and private financing, improve their innovation capability and develop newproduct / services to grow in the UK and internationally.

This is a government funded project that empowers innovation businesses to grow at pace and achieve their ambitions. Through this programme they are supporting Northwest based businesses by performing the role of strategic coach and mentor to support themto develop a sustainable innovation and growth strategy.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- You will be delivering high-quality, specialist business growth advice to a varied portfolio of businesses with ambitious owners and senior managers who are looking to achieve growth particularly, but not exclusively, through new product/service development.
- Your goal will be to help businesses create and launch new products and services; to help them identify the most effective strategy to accelerate their business growth and maximise their potential; provide them with access to the relevant resources suchas investor networks, IP expertise and international partnerships.

**About You**:

- You are looking to contribute and share your expertise with businesses.
- You are excited about fostering collaboration opportunities and have a strong drive to implement innovative ideas.
- Entrepreneurial, with commercial and technical aptitude.

**Skills Required**:

- Marketing and sales skills to promote the project across the North West and generate leads
- Understanding of supply chain and various intermediaries involved.
- Experience of raising finance either through IUK/European funding or through other financial vehicles (private investment).
- An understanding of P&L (profit & Loss) and balance sheets, concepts such as ROI (return on investment), breakeven, cash-flow and working capital.
- An understanding of equity finance and what investors are looking for in a company looking to raise finance.
- Proven track record in managing the range of business issues associated with periods of business growth.
- Access to a car or an ability to travel across customer sites in the Northwest is essential.
