**Job Title**: MASH Researcher

**Salary**: £28,511 to £30,504 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £28,511 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £30,504 will be via incremental progression.

**Location**: Ealing, Uxbridge, Hounslow

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the West Area (WA) MASH team at one of three sites, Ealing, Hounslow or Hillingdon. You'll be based at a council civic centre with the opportunity of bended working on some days.

Working as part of a team within the Public Protection (PP) - Partnership Hub MASH team, the successful applicants will be responsible for researching, interpreting, prioritising and sharing data across the Public Protection (PP) Hub units and with partner agencies, (like social services, education/schools and health) in order to deliver an integrated service.

The applicant will be expected to compile clear, concise reports from Police indices in order to inform and highlight safeguarding concerns for and to partner agencies.

**As a Police MASH Researcher your Key Responsibilities**
- Work within MASH as part of a collocated team of professionals from safeguarding agencies to deliver an integrated service with the aim to research, interpret and determine what is proportionate and relevant to share
- ** Use of the Merlin system**:

- Using the MERLIN system you will carry out research on Merlin entries in order of priority as directed by the police supervisor.
- Carry out research using IIP and show structured research on Merlin reports
- Bring to the attention of a supervisor any information that comes to light that may either heighten or lower the risk during research
- Complete risk assessments
- Complete research identifying any potentially sensitive information
- Provide initial analysis of the risk areas identified during research
- Complete CRIMINT entries as required

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to review and prioritise risk.
- Ability to review and record data and information.
- Create clear reports in order to highlight and present data/information.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Access to PNC, CRIS, Merlin, CRIMINT and IIP.
- Previous safeguarding experience.
- Previous Partnership working.

**Additional Information**

The role is based within either Hillingdon, Ealing or Hounslow Civic centres (council buildings) under the MPS blended working process. Hours are Monday - Friday. 8.00 - 4.00.
