We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, experienced stockperson to join the expanding team at Mawley Hall near Cleobury Mortimer in South Shropshire. The estate, set over 4,000 acres, includes the nearby Kinlet Hall and estate, Birch Farm and Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club, and consists of Grade I listed properties, residential and staff properties and numerous infrastructure which support the operation of farming, forestry, recreation, golf course etc, whilst also remaining the private residence of the owner.

**General Conditions of Employment**

This is a permanent position on a privately owned estate. You will be employed as part of the Farm Team working under the direction of the Farm Manager.

This role will be full time, flexibility required to work additional hours as may be necessary, including weekends or on bank holidays.

20 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays.

**Position Summary**

We are looking to recruit a skilled, knowledgeable and motivated stockperson to work with the Farm Manager and Farm Team to maintain and develop the farms to the highest standards.

You will be keen and enthusiastic with a proven track record in a similar role, with formal training and a wide practical knowledge of working agriculture.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

All those duties normally associated with the role of Stockperson, to include, but not limited to:

- To be responsible for 1,400 sheep, 400 cattle and any other livestock on the Estate.
- Assist the Farm Manager with registering all livestock, movement licences and general everyday management.
- To use and take responsibility for ensuring all vehicles and equipment used on the estate are properly maintained and in good working order at all times.
- Basic maintenance and cleaning of estate vehicles, machinery and tools.
- Tractor and trailer driving.
- To assist with estate maintenance works to include fences, boundaries, mowing and topping of fields.
- To liaise with the other estate staff for the best interests of the wider estate and the employer.
- To take a proactive approach, use initiative and operate in a responsive and timely way in order to achieve the very best results for the estate.
- To have a flexible approach, the ability to multitask, work as part of a team and work well under pressure.
- Assisting the Estate Manager, Gamekeeper, Gardeners and Estate Workers when necessary.
- You may from time to time be asked to assist with equestrian enterprise.
- Assisting as necessary with shoot days.
- In addition, you may from time to time be required to undertake such other duties as the Employer may reasonably require or as necessary to meet the needs of the Employer.

**Skills and Experience**
- A well organised individual with attention to detail and a keenness to provide the highest standards.
- A practical, hands-on attitude with excellent team working and communication skills.
- Capable to take responsibility and work on own initiative, alone or with small teams.
- Experience of driving tractors, attachments and using a wide range of tools and equipment.
- Basic machinery maintenance knowledge.
- Ideally PA1 and PA6 Pesticides Application qualifications.
- Capacity to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms.
- Full UK driving licence.
