To provide technical expertise and leadership in the development, verification and delivery of analogue, digital and RF electronics solutions and other products across QinetiQ’s portfolio.

This role will be based at QinetiQ’s site in Malvern, and will also support our businesses in the UK.
- Deliver compliant and safe technical solutions in accordance with customer and business requirements, to time, cost and quality.
- Lead engineering project teams in the definition and execution of effective design, development and verification plans of work from bid stage through to delivery.
- Ensure requirements are effectively managed on projects (through derivation, flow down to sub-teams and sub-contractors, and the verification thereof).
- Lead and support independent engineering reviews and generation of design certification.
- Promote continuous process improvement.
- Mentor and support less experienced staff.
- Support business development and sales activities.
- Technically oversee and evaluate subcontracted elements of work.

**Essential**:

- Honours degree or equivalent in electronic engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in the design, development and verification of electronic systems.
- The ability to lead technical teams of engineers.
- A clear understanding of the typical qualification, verification and acceptance approaches. Proven experience in requirements management.
- Ability to work at all technical levels from system to component level design, to equipment build and test.
- Work constructively and proactively with QinetiQ colleagues and with customer / supplier representatives.
- Problem solving / innovative.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all appropriate levels within the organisation and externally with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a multinational environment and having good written and oral presentation skills.
- Tenacious.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Good common sense and ability to make technical and programmatic decisions from a top-level perspective

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of electronic industry standards and best-practice for hardware design.
- Membership of relevant professional body.
- Understanding of neighbouring disciplines such as structural, thermal and mechanical engineering.
- Understanding of product safety and certification.
- Availability for occasional UK travel in support of project delivery.
