A new exciting permanent opportunity for a **Finance Manager** role is available in our Technology team

Ocado Technology sits at the heart of the Ocado Group and has the overarching goal "to create and support Ocado's pioneering automated technology platforms globally".

This **Finance Manager**role directly business partners the Engineering Supply Chain team with highly visible and business critical activities such as the Sales & Operating planning cycle to ensure procurement matches demand and in turn reduce obsolescence risk, the implementation of cash flow forecasting, and the execution of new manufacturing contracts to support the rollout of new products such as Metal Totes and the 600s bot.

You will act as a trusted and valued financial advisor to your key stakeholders both within Supply Chain and senior finance leadership, aiding them to make informed decisions based upon robust data. Furthermore, you will provide insights into centrally procured spend and drive forward process improvements in conjunction with your business partners, to add value through the provision of accurate & timely data that feeds into capital expenditure forecasts

***What else you will be doing?**
- Primary point of contact and business partner to the Engineering Supply Chain Director and their team, building effective working relationships at senior levels to deliver an enhanced level of support to key decision partners across varied commercial activities
- Working closely with project managers to support investments in new manufacturing contracts such as Metal Totes and the 600s bot, and the subsequent distribution of these new products to CFC projects.
- Maintain a clear view of inventory balances across the Central Manufacturing Fund & Tier 2 suppliers through engagement with the Project Accounting team, and reconcile this alongside future commitments to both challenge and support future purchasing decisions that arise through the S&OP cycle to control cash outflows and reduce potential obsolescence.
- Lead the modelling of the financial impact of the latest demand plan on inventory, capex and cash flow as part of the on-going Sales & Operating Plan cycle presented to senior leadership and the Exec group.
- Continually identify and implement improvements to business processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in the data being provided to guide decisions and feed into forecasts.
- The cost sheet review process and the potential implementation of standard costing is a particular area of opportunity in this regard which you will lead from a finance perspective alongside stakeholders within Supply Chain, taking into consideration the impact on CFC Capex projects through interaction with members of the wider Tech Ops finance team.
- Support the month-end reporting requirements, providing an overview of financial results vs budget, with a particular focus on maximising timesheet completion and appropriate capitalisation of time.
- Oversee the preparation of Budget and Reforecast submissions, based on inputs from the Supply Chain leadership team.
- Direct line management of a Finance Business Partner, supporting their continued development within the role
- Actively engage and collaborate with the wider Technology Finance team to deliver on shared objectives

***About you**

***Minimum**:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong academic record is essential
- Experience in supporting senior managers in non-finance teams
- Experience of financial appraisals and/or financial reporting and insightful analysis
- Solid experience of budgeting and forecasting
- Strong Excel skills

***Preferred (in addition to minimum)**:

- Experience in global business within Engineering/Technology sectors
- Experience of Supply Chain and inventory management
- Experience of mainstream accounting packages e.g. Oracle and Hyperion
