22.5 hours - 37.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at The Hillingdon Hospital in a new role as Telephone Helpline Midwife.

As part of our improvement work we have developed the role of Telephone Helpline Midwife to work alongside our maternity triage. The service will initially run Monday to Sunday during the day but it is expected that we will provide a 24/7 service in the future.

We are looking to appoint highly motivated band 6 midwives who have a passion and commitment to providing high quality, safe woman/birthing person centred care for women/birthing people and their families.

In addition, we pride ourselves on the way we support and nurture our colleagues and how we value progression for all of our midwives and support staff. We are passionate about supporting all those who work in the maternity department to fulfil their ambitions and achieve safe, high quality standards of care. The post holders will receive a full orientation to the team and access to ongoing development on successful appointment.

The post holders will be responsible for giving safe, evidence based advice to all women/birthing people, families and external agencies who telephone our triage department. They will be responsible for assessing the need for women/birthing person to either attend triage or to manage conditions at home. They will also be responsible for signposting women to other agencies.
