**THE ROLE**: A Postdoc position focusing on R&D into sustainable technologies for particle accelerators is available in the QUASAR Group at Liverpool University for an initial duration of 2 years.

The post will be based at the Cockcroft Institute on Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus.

Our current activities in sustainable technologies include work on energy recovery linacs in projects such as PERLE, LHeC and FCC-ee, as well as R&D into beam instrumentation with a reduced energy footprint.

DUTIES

Carrying out R&D into sustainable technologies for particle accelerators;
Disseminating all research outcomes internationally through journal articles, workshop and conference contributions;
Exploring route-to-market options for these technologies, working closely with our business development manager;
Building and strengthening links with collaboration partners, including participation in beamtimes at national and international research infrastructures;

The QUASAR Group wants to establish itself as a leading academic group and partner of choice in this important research area. You will be expected to work with other group members, partners from within the PERLE and FCC collaborations, colleagues from CERN, CNRS, STFC/ASTeC, as well as industry partners such as Teledyne e2v and D-Beam.

You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, i.e. physics, engineering or computer sciences.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis until June 2025 initially.
