**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**JOB TITLE**:Machine Operator

**DEPARTMENT **Production

**REPORTING TO **Supervisor

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**:
Set & Operate machine to achieve optimum output to meet customer specifications whilst achieving desired quality level and observing Health & Safety requirements

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Locate and read Job Card to understand customer requirements

2. Obtain and check correctness of all materials plus tooling (if applicable) against information detailed on Job card

3. Operate effective line clearance between editions and orders.

4. Set the machine to optimise output and ensure maintenance of acceptable quality standards

5. Conduct ‘First off’ approval to meet customer specification requirements as per Procedure

6. Maintain optimum speed to achieve output and efficiency targets without comprising quality.

7. Conduct ongoing quality checks / tests to identify faults throughout the run, correct problems expediently to avoid loss or material and report any problems. (If final production process performs Final release check.)

8. Provide full traceability of material, semi-finished goods and finished packed boxes throughout production

9. Label, as per procedure, unused material returning to store, quarantine and finished product.

10. Complete all necessary documentation making sure that details are correct, legible and provide sufficient details

11. Maintain tooling condition of tooling by correct handling, cleaning and correctly filing

12. Operate ‘clean as you go’ policy to maintain a clean and tidy work environment in accordance with Cleaning Schedule

13. Operate in safe manner and highlight any unsafe practices

14. Comply with all company, Hygiene, Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety policies or procedures

- Setting machines / Recognising product shape from drawing/die/plate including when folded, rotated or reversed.
- Matching colours to required standard
- Working in fast moving environment / preferably production Set & Operator machines and troubleshoot when issues occur
- Completing documentation / reading instructions
- Training to set / operate machinery
- Required to attain NVQ qualification
- Consistently Produce high standard of work / can follow written and verbal instructions
- Required to attain NVQ2 qualification / Follow instructions
- Train to operate different machines / Ability to listen and take in information as well as ability to translate learning into practice Open minded, willing to adapt and change to accept new work method

**37.5 hours per week**

**mon-thurs: 8.30-5pm**

**fri: 8.30-1.30pm**

**we are seeking to recruit 2 trainees. The role will involve training to operate one or more of the following machines**:

- Cut & Crease machine
- Guillotine
- Glue Machine
- Small hand operated machinery

**salary starts 20k - 22k per year after training will rise to 25.5k per year**

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lurgan: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
