Yard Fitter

Are you a skilled and motivated individual with a passion for vehicles and mechanical systems? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Yard Fitter.

With competitive pay and the chance to work alongside our experienced Workshop Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of specialist road marking vehicles, including both HGV’s and vans.

**Job Details**:

- Position:_ Yard Fitter
- Hours:_ Full-time 40 hours per week.
- Pay-_ £12-£13 per hour.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Yard Fitter, your main responsibilities will include:

- Resolving breakdowns promptly to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and addressing any issues that arise.
- Performing ad-hoc repairs as needed.
- Managing service schedules and preventative maintenance servicing.
- Assisting with tasks such as wheel torquing and moving vehicles to maintenance workshops.
- Undertaking continuous training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Fulfilling other duties assigned by Management.

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, we require:

- A recognised mechanical qualification or proof of time served.
- Availability of on-call coverage during certain periods.
- A minimum “B” driving licence, with a C licence (Class 2) being desirable but not essential.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to learn fabrication and welding techniques.
