Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit Telemetry Engineers to join our rapidly growing teams in our Cumbernauld & Edinburgh offices.

IDS are an established industry leader providing single sourced solutions within the field of MEICAT Engineering. Our areas of expertise include hazardous areas, PLC/SCADA, telemetry integration, mechanical and electrical engineering design, installation, project management and preventive maintenance. Due to our continued expansion we are seeking to recruit a Senior Estimator to join our rapidly growing team.

This could mean splitting your time, based on business need between site, the office and home. Your contract location will remain as your place of work. Flexibility and hybrid working is managed on a case-by-case basis so please don’t be afraid to ask in your interview about the flexibility on offer.

You will report directly to the Pre-Contract Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include:

- Co-ordinating with other Teams/Disciplines as part of the Project Cost/ Scope Development phase
- Developing the scope of works for the project (Bill of Quantities) through involvement with the wider Bid Team
- Producing bottom-up estimates from client drawings
- Producing tender stage programmes to support tender submissions
- Producing detailed tender submissions for clients
- Inputting to ECI phases of projects
- Sending out technical enquiries to the Supply Chain and evaluating returns
- Developing Target Costs
- Developing and managing the estimating team
- Providing governance and due diligence checks before tenders are developed for submission in line with Company delegated levels of authority
- Updating Target Cost to Estimate at subsequent Gate approval stages
- Ensuring that Actual Cost data is captured from Project Team and fed back at Project Completion
- Implementing continual improvement and increased efficiencies in our data and processes year on year Key Attributes

Person Specification

A broad range of key skills are required, including:

- Experience of MEICA equipment and services used in the construction of Water and Wastewater Treatment Works is preferable.
- Ability to grasp the complexities of MEICA equipment and systems and to communicate these issues with the wider Bid Team.
- Significant practical experience with MEICA equipment
- Ability to evaluate proposals from the supply chain for MEICA equipment including scope of supply, technical compliance, and commercial offer.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings from clients, develop base line cost estimates and routines, and produce labour, plant and material cost build-ups.
