This is a wonderful opportunity for a Teaching Assistant, Newly Qualified Teacher or Fully Qualified Teacher to build upon experience, as the successful applicant will be working with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students in a supportive primary schools inTorquay and surrounding arears.
The Role
As a Primary Intervention Teacher, you will be working closely with students either 1:1 or in small groups of two or three students, supporting them to make rapid progress in Numeracy and Literacy. This would be in-class on a face-to-face basis. The workinghours are flexible as our school can accommodate tuition on either a full-time basis or on a part-time basis (Mornings/Afternoons, Monday - Friday OR three full days per week). Tutors will also be required to complete sessional reports for your groups eachsession. All students are entitled to 15-hours of tuition, so placements will take place for 15-weeks (excluding holidays), meaning tutors must be able to commit to the role on a long-term basis. This opportunity may also lead to long term / permanent positionsin schools to be an Intervention Teacher or Tutor.
Requirements
- Experience in tutoring / education is essential (particularly with KS1/KS2 pupils)
- Strong behaviour management skills are essential
- Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
- Confident to deliver phonics sessions (desirable)
- Experience of preparing Year 6 students for their SATs (desirable)
- Experience working with students with additional needs such as dyslexia (desirable)
