Nursery Practitioner

Darul Madinah is looking to recruit a Nursery Practitioner to join their enthusiastic and highly motivated team. We are an OFSTED-regulated nursery. We deliver the EYFS (key stage early learning stage) and the basic understanding Islamic curriculum to your child. We offer a vibrant mix of cultures where every child is welcomed and respected regardless of faith but rather as an individual, which promotes community cohesion. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support of the children.
1. To contribute to the preparation and evaluation of learning activities for the children,
according to the class teacher’s direction.
2. To contribute to the observation and EYFS assessment records of the children’s
development.
3. To assist children with language development, particularly spoken language, through
discussion and storytelling.
4. To engage children in learning activities linked to the curriculum.
5. To assist with children’s personal hygiene, toileting, and social skills training.
6. To share in the general care, supervision, and learning of the children during the
the session, both indoors and outdoors.
7. To support children with individual needs.
8. To promote the inclusion of all pupils within the classroom and school.
9. To support the use of ICT in the classroom.
10. To ensure that that the ethos of the school is implemented, by providing an Islamic
upbringing within the setting
11. To ensure that activities that take place do not go against the teachings of Islam,
whilst at the same time ensuring we create a tolerant and understanding environment
12. Responsible for key children and their learning journals.
13. To be part of the rota system for different things such as cleaning, sing in and out, etc.
Support for the Teacher and other Staff
1. To prepare materials and displays for the class teacher, and to undertake minor
repairs to materials.
2. To provide regular feedback about the children to the teacher or other teaching
assistants.
3. To ensure where practical that the classroom is orderly and areas of the room are kept
tidy and clearly labeled.
4. To work closely with the staff to contribute to the management of the pupils’ positive
behavior.
Support for the School.
1. To develop good relationships with children, parents, and other professionals.
2. To be a good role model and set high standards and have high expectations.
3. To participate in, and prepare for, school events within normal working hours and on staff training days.
4. To help the teacher supervise the groups of children on educational visits.
5. To attend any staff training sessions that would be relevant or helpful to the duties listed.
6. To be aware of school procedures and follow school policies, including Safeguarding Children.
7. To be aware of confidential issues and to keep confidence appropriately.
8. To contribute to the overall ethos, aims, and work of the school
9. To carry out other duties which may from time to time reasonably be required within the general level of responsibility of the post.
**Person Specification**:
- Childcare qualification at level 2 or above
- Experience of working with children under 5 years of age
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
- Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)
GENERAL
1. To undertake such duties as may be reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
2. To be committed to play a full part as a member of a team
3. To undergo any training and development relevant to the satisfactory performance of the job, as required

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
Holiday entitlement: Pro Rata
Your data will be held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC, the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR), and all applicable laws and regulations relating to Processing of Personal Data and privacy, including where applicable the guidance and codes of practice issued by the Information Commissioner.
Pay: From £11.50 per hour
