**Job Purpose**:
You will empower individuals with limited mobility, helping them regain their independence and enhance their quality of life by working with local authority community Occupational Therapy teams to resolve the moving and handling challenges of less able children and adults.

**Duties**:

- Attend pre planned joint visits with Occupational Therapists and other local authority professionals, ensuring you communicate proactively any delay to attendance.
- Update your electronic diary daily with essential information.
- Identify sales intel and opportunities for escalation to the area field sales team.
- Work closely with the area sales team to help grow regional business and create new opportunities.
- Attending exhibitions training days and product evaluation days to increase your knowledge of medical devices and moving & handling techniques.
- To accommodate travelling out of the regional area to provide coverage, assist colleagues, and reduce lead times where necessary.

**Product Specific Essential Duties**

**Fixed Equipment Assessments - Equipment that is to be installed e.g. Ceiling Track Hoist Systems, Stretchers and Straight/Curved Stair Lifts**
- Demonstrate a high level of empathy when interacting with less able end users.
- Communicate confidently and clearly with the OT, local authority professional and end user - you are the equipment specialist, the professional is the clinical specialist.
- Suggest the equipment and configuration that best resolves the moving and handling challenges of the end user, ensuring that you are explaining your rationale to the professional/end user and future proofing the environment where possible.
- Move and handle end users where required to ensure the completion of a comprehensive assessment.
- Undertake property surveys to assess for the suitability of installation equipment, ensuring that the fixing methods are safe and suitable for the environment.
- Physically access and visually inspect all loft spaces and trussed roof constructions to ensure fixed equipment installation feasibility where required.
- Complete basic visual electrical checks, including such things as ensuring earth bonding is in place - no electrical qualification is required.
- Identify asbestos risks, following the group asbestos policy where identified.
- Complete detailed and legible on-site, scaled drawings and where required.
- Submit completed assessment paperwork, drawings, and other associate documents within 24 hours of each assessment.

**None Fixed Equipment Assessments - equipment that is mobile and not installed e.g. Shower Chairs, Slings and Moving & Handling Accessories**
- Demonstrate a high level of empathy when interacting with less able end users.

- Be able to confidently prescribe the correct piece of equipment that best addresses the service user’s needs.
- To risk assess the environment to ensure safe transfers for both the service user and relevant care staff.
- Move and handle end users where required to ensure the completion of a comprehensive assessment.
- Carry all standard supply only products for demonstration to health care professionals and assessment of end users.
- Submit completed assessment paperwork, drawings, and other associate documents within 24 hours of each assessment.
